Community invited to vote for People’s Choice Award during American Heart Month

BENTON, Ark. (Feb. 17, 2026) – In recognition of American Heart Month, Saline Health System is hosting the Works of Heart art show in the hospital atrium from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26.

Local students in grades 9-12 have submitted heart-themed art for the show for a chance to win in two categories: the Judges’ Choice Award and the People’s Choice Award. Each winner gets a $100 gift card, and each winner’s school gets a $500 art supply grant.

“Heart health is deeply personal, and art has a powerful way of telling those stories,” said Saline Health System CEO Char Boulch. “By showcasing the creativity of our local students, we’re celebrating not only American Heart Month but also the voices and perspectives of the next generation. It’s an honor to open our hospital to the community in a way that connects healing, creativity and compassion.”

Everyone who attends the event, which is free and open to all ages, will get a chance to vote for the People’s Choice Award. Voting ends at 7:10 p.m. The hospital will tally the votes and announce the winners at 7:20 p.m.

“This event invites the community to be part of the experience, not just observers,” said Jeannie Otts, director of the cardiac catheterization lab. “Heart disease affects so many families, and giving people the chance to engage, vote and reflect through art helps spark meaningful conversations about prevention, awareness and heart-healthy living.”
