Chief Executive Officer
Michael Stewart assumed the role as Chief Executive Officer at Saline Health System in Benton, Arkansas on November 30, 2018. He brings nearly 15 years of healthcare experience to this role. Stewart came to Saline Health System from Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas, where he served as CEO since 2014. Prior to his time at Navarro Regional, he spent two years as the COO/Administrator for Northwest Health System in Springdale, Arkansas and seven years in executive leadership roles at hospitals in California and Florida. Prior to his healthcare career, Stewart spent four years as a member of the United States Air Force where he rose to the rank of Captain. He received his MBA from McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
Chief Nursing Officer
Katie Lea, Chief Nursing Officer at Saline Health System, is an experienced nurse leader with a diverse background. She received her bachelors and master’s in nursing from Arkansas State University and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Canyon College. Her clinical background includes critical care, emergency, and home health. Katie has served in a variety of clinical roles and has over twenty-five years of nursing leadership experience. She is also nationally certified in nursing executive practice and patient safety. Katie is actively involved in the Arkansas Organization of Nurse Leaders and serves as the president. Actively engaged in the community, she serves as Board President for Camp Aldersgate and board member for Christian Community Care Clinic. As a heart survivor, she is active with the Arkansas Heart Association and most recently served as the GoRed for Women Chair. Katie is passionate about organ donation and is committed to raising community awareness to support organ, eye, and tissue donation.
Chief Financial Officer
Marty Bakos assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer at Saline Health System on July 13, 2020. Bakos brings more than 25 years of experience in financial operations in hospitals. She most recently served as CFO of Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, AZ and has also led financial operations in hospitals in Florida, Oklahoma and New Mexico. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Ohio University in Athens Ohio. Bakos oversees all financial matters at Saline Health System from day-to-day operations to long term financial planning.
Jacqueline Wilkerson assumed the role of Associate Administrator at Saline Health System in April 2022. Prior to accepting that role, Wilkerson had worked at Saline Memorial Hospital for two years, serving as the director of quality. She started her career as a registered nurse in Searcy, Arkansas, and has progressed through various clinical and leadership roles, including chief nursing officer (CNO) at Conway Regional Health System and CNO and Market CNO at Sovah Health in Virginia.
In addition to being an RN, Wilkerson has earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a master’s degree in business administration. She is also credentialed as a Certified Professional in Patient Safety.
