Saline Health System earns Platinum Performance Achievement Award

September 16, 2025

Award recognizes the hospital’s dedication to providing quality care for heart patients

BENTON, Ark. (September 16, 2025) – Saline Memorial Hospital has earned the 2025 Platinum Performance Achievement Award, the highest honor available from the American College of Cardiology’s NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry.

Hospitals that participate in the registry report data about all acute myocardial infarctions treated, and the quality of care is tracked based on following the treatment guidelines outlined by the American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association. Saline Memorial Hospital consistently met the benchmarks for two consecutive years (2023 and 2024) and qualified at the highest levels on the performance measures.

“It is an honor to award Saline Memorial Hospital with the Platinum Performance Award for their valuable national leadership and dedication to meeting comprehensive performance measures in patient care,” said Dr. Michael C. Kontos, FACC, chair of the NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Steering Subcommittee, and cardiologist at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. “The receipt of this award indicates that Saline Memorial Hospital remains committed to providing top quality, guideline-driven care for heart attack patients. Their success ensures patients are receiving the highest quality cardiovascular care.”

Some of the performance measurements that are tracked include the timeliness of care, like timely restoration of blood flow to the blocked artery, and following treatment guidelines, like administering aspirin upon arrival and discharge.

The top-performing hospitals receive awards at three levels: silver, gold or platinum. Saline Memorial Hospital earned silver awards in 2022 and 2023 before achieving platinum status in 2024 and now again in 2025.

“Earning back-to-back Platinum Performance Achievement Awards demonstrates our level of commitment to providing the highest level of care for patients experiencing chest pain,” said CEO Char Boulch. “Our patients and their loved ones can have confidence in our clinical capabilities to provide high-quality, life-saving emergency medical care.”
