BENTON, Ark. (May 22, 2025) – Saline Health System recently announced that Jayme Workman has been recognized as the hospital’s 2025 Mercy Award winner. The Mercy Award recognizes one employee from each of Lifepoint Health’s hospitals who profoundly touches the lives of others and best represents the spirit and values on which the company was founded: compassion, dedication and a merciful spirit.
Workman, a registered nurse, has worked in the emergency department and emergency department leadership for more than 30 years, including about five years as the emergency department director at Saline Memorial Hospital. In addition to her role as department director, she volunteers as a member of the employee engagement committee to help create a more positive and connected environment for the entire hospital and employed medical practices.
“Jayme embodies the Lifepoint spirit through her unwavering dedication to her colleagues, her mentorship of future leaders and her commitment to humanitarian efforts,” CEO Char Boulch said. “She is truly deserving of this prestigious honor.”
Workman’s commitment to service extends beyond the Saline Health System campus. After Hurricane Helene, she organized a supply drive to gather resources to support those in need, and her husband journeyed to North Carolina to distribute them and assist the affected community.
“Jayme’s initiative and compassion ensured that help reached those who needed it most,” Boulch said.
Established in 2001, the Mercy Award is an annual recognition program that honors the life and contributions of Scott Mercy, Lifepoint’s founding chairman and chief executive officer. The award is considered the highest honor a Lifepoint employee can receive.
Each hospital winner, including Workman, will be considered for Lifepoint’s companywide Mercy Award. The companywide winner will be announced this summer and honored during a ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee, in August.
