Emergency Medicine
The Saline Memorial Emergency Department cares for patients seeking immediate treatment for medical or surgical emergencies. The team initiates life-saving procedures in all types of emergencies and provides treatment for minor injuries. A team of emergency physicians, nurses and support staff operate the emergency department around the clock. The emergency department is a Level III trauma center, which means it has demonstrated the ability to provide advanced trauma life support (ATLS) prior to the transfer of patients to a higher-level trauma center.
Next Steps
Saline Memorial Hospital is the only Saline County hospital with a Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI accreditation from the American College of Cardiology. The accreditation process required an in-depth review of the hospital’s processes and systems from admission to post-discharge care to ensure the best possible outcomes for heart patients. The Primary PCI designation signifies that we have 24/7 coverage to respond to patients experiencing heart attack symptoms.
Saline Memorial is also a designated stroke center, utilizing telemedicine through UAMS Institute for Digital Health & Innovation's Stroke Program. This program allows us to link ischemic stroke patients with a vascular neurologist within minutes, via live, two-way video, available 24-hours a day. The program helps ensure timely treatment of stroke patients.
