Community Involvement
Saline
Memorial Hospital is an active community partner participating
in health fairs, neighborhood and communitywide events, and
health-related organizational fundraisers. Additional community
support is provided in a variety of ways ranging from free
ambulance service at high school athletic events, hosting
educational seminars and fairs to memberships in several local
Chamber of Commerce and organizational groups.
Many patients are
not able to return home immediately after they have been ill
or have had surgery. The goal of Saline Memorial Hospital’s
Recuperative Care Unit is to assist the patient towards the
achievement of their optimal functional level. We want all of
our patients to regain the level of independence they were
able to safely experience before their hospital stay.
The services of the Recuperative Care Unit are typically
available to patients following a minimum of three days in the
hospital and who meet the criteria for admission. Patients
admitted to the Recuperative Care Unit have progressed beyond
the acute stage and no longer require intense hospital care,
but would still benefit form the help of medical
professionals. The patient’s physician must order this level
of care.
