Quality safe care for every patient is our number one priority
at Saline Memorial Hospital. We recognize that all patients
deserve and have the right to expect all precautions will be
taken to minimize adverse events and injuries.
To assure the highest healthcare standards are in place, SMH
undergoes routine assessment and evaluation by various
accreditation organizations such as The Joint Commission.
These assessments evaluate an organization’s compliance with
specific standards and other accreditation requirements.
The SMH Quality and Risk Management Department coordinates
these ongoing assessments to help identify ways to assure
the highest patient safety and to continuously improve
patient outcomes. Each month, the Quality and Risk
Management Department identifies specific areas of patient
safety and quality and educates co-workers in these areas.
Just a few of the current focuses on quality and safety

Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) “5 Million
