ORBERA® Managed Weight Loss Program

The Newest Weapon for Weight Loss

Saline Memorial Hospital is proud to offer a new FDA-approved weight loss treatment technique that does not require surgical intervention. It’s called the ORBERA™ Managed Weight Loss System. ORBERA™ involves the use of an intragastric balloon placed inside the stomach for a temporary period of time. Once inflated, the balloon takes up space in order to help you feel full much sooner than usual while eating. The balloon works in conjunction with a medically supervised and coordinated diet and exercise plan. This two-part program encourages the development of healthy habits that can be sustained for long-term weight loss success.

How ORBERA Works

There are no incisions required during this quick outpatient procedure. A small, deflated balloon is inserted down the throat and carefully placed in the stomach. The balloon is then filled with a saline solution. Once inflated, it is about the size of a grapefruit. In most cases, this procedure can be completed in approximately 30 minutes.

After six months, the balloon is deflated and removed. This begins the second phase of treatment with the ORBERA™ Managed Weight Loss System. Our team of weight loss experts will help you continue with good diet and exercise habits to keep losing weight safely and effectively. This medically supervised weight loss program is designed to assist you as you adjust to new dietary and lifestyle habits. With our team approach, you will have a comprehensive foundation of support to help win the battle against weight loss.

The ORBERA cost is typically lower than other surgical weight-loss procedures, though it varies by patient. If you’d like to learn more or schedule a consultation, call us today at (501) 574-7171.
