The goal of Saline Memorial Hospice care is to achieve the best quality of life for patients and there families dealing with life-threatening illnesses. Caring for the whole patient-physically, spiritually and psychologically is the basis of SMH hospice.
Hospice care is provided by an interdisciplinary team which includes the physician (including the Hospice Medical Director), nurses, social worker, chaplain, patient care technician, hospice volunteers and bereavement coordinator. Care can be provided in the patient's home, family residence, nursing home or retirement home. In addition, short-term hospice inpatient care is also available at Saline Memorial Hospital.
To ensure our patients receive the highest level of medical and emotional care during this difficult time in life, Saline Memorial has a 16-bed inpatient Hospice House located in Bryant. This facility was designed specifically with the patient and family in mind and includes a sun room, chapel, family room, in-patient beds and dining room.
