While you’re a patient in the hospital, your care will be managed by a physician who specializes in taking care of hospitalized patients. These physicians are called Hospitalists. Hospitalists are on site at the hospital seven days a week to provide you with ongoing and immediate care. The hospitalist team will be in frequent contact with your Primary Care Physician (PCP), relaying the details of your care. Your physician will also be notified if anything unexpected happens during your stay. After you are discharged, you will return to the care of your primary care physician.
