When a wound fails to heal following six weeks of standard
medical care, it is considered a “problem wound” and has the
potential to benefit from the services offered by a wound
healing center. The SMH Wound Healing Center specialists work
together to provide individualized treatment and decrease the
cost and time of your recovery. If you are suffering from any
of the following, please let the SMH Wound Healing Center
help:
|
|
| |
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Chronic venous ulcers (leg ulcers)
- Pressure ulcers or bed sores
- Bone infection
- Radiation-related tissue damage
- Any ulcer/wound that persists for more
than six weeks despite care

The SMH Wound Healing Center houses a state-of-the-art
hyperbaric oxygen chamber to treat those experiencing
decompression sickness, venous or arterial gas embolization,
carbon monoxide poisoning, traumatic crush injuries, and
necrotizing soft-tissue infections. The chamber is also
capable of providing therapy for critically ill,
ventilator-dependent adult and pediatric patients. |
