The SMH Diagnostic Imaging Department is a comprehensive
service providing sophisticated clinical application of
imagining technology 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Services are provided to inpatients and outpatients of all
ages both at the Diagnostic Imaging Center located within
the hospital and at the bedside.
The Center offers the combined skills and knowledge of
highly trained medical personnel with advanced technology to
bring patients the highest quality service.
One of the technological advancements is the film-less
Picture Archival Communication System (PACS), which allows
X-Rays to be taken, stored and read digitally on a computer.
This allows physicians the convenience and speed of computer
access to read patient x-rays when on-site or away from the
hospital.
