SALINE MEMORIAL ANNOUNCES PLANS TO BUILD BRYANT CAMPUS

Benton, AR (March 17, 2015) A new healthcare campus is in the works for the Bryant community. With the toss of dirt from their shovels, hospital representatives, community leaders, and physicians helped break ground for the new Saline Memorial Bryant Medical Campus.

“The need for expansion into Bryant and the east end of the county became very clear several years ago,” said Bob Trautman, SMH CEO. “We identified the need in 2012, after a community health needs assessment took place. Bryant has been underserved for the last few years as the area has experienced exponential growth. Our goal is to fill this gap and to expand our footprint throughout the County.”

Saline Memorial Hospital (SMH) acquired property in Bryant located close to the intersection of Market Place Drive and Highway 5, just north of Ashley Furniture Home Store and Wal-Mart. The campus will be built around an existing five acre lake that will be developed with walking paths and pavilions for use by employees, patients and families.

“The intent is to develop a centralized location for SMH services in Bryant and to build an identity as the leading healthcare provider in the County,” said Trautman.

The outpatient campus will be in constant development and expansion as the hospital leadership team works through a phased plan that will take up to ten years to complete.

“We will start phase one by relocating existing clinics like Central Arkansas Women’s Group and Bryant Medical Clinic to the new location—then there will be an outpatient surgery center that will follow in another six to eight months. This is a ten-year plan that takes our existing leases into consideration.”

“Consolidation of services like physical therapy and imaging services will make care more accessible and user-friendly for our patients. We’re bringing in new services as well in an effort to make the experience as positive and complete as possible,” said Trautman.

Saline Memorial Hospital (SMH) is a full-service, 177-bed non-profit community hospital that has served Saline County and the surrounding areas for more than 60 years. Located in Benton, Arkansas, SMH provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, including but not limited to, cardiology, women’s services, bariatric surgery, pediatrics, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, adult and geriatric psychiatry, hospice and home health, sleep disorders and wound care.
